Customers shop is now in DMOZ

Six months after registering license to frill lingerie with DMOZ it’s finally showing up in the category for lingerie.

And the images are now back

Will the google base / Froogle issues never end

Just checked my customers google base – looking good, now even showing the images (finally). But for every piece of good news – the bad news. Froogle seems to have now lost it’s images. All items are showing without the corresponding images.

I had already planned to upgrade the feed tomorrow but now it looks as if it’s essential maintenance! luckily it doesn’t seem to have affected our client hits as much as froogle losing all the items did.

Next google base challenge

Next google base challenge

Now that the old feed is settled down I’m going to start modifying the script so that it uses the new layout and then add in all of the extra features available in base.

Plan is to just change the layout of the header initially – so that it’s using the new feed column names and then make sure that works before adding all of the (for my client anyway) extra bits e.g. apparel_type and manufacturer information.

It’s not so easy with the categories since I want to turn these into keywords (or in base term labels) but luckily I’ve got keywords associated with each category so I’ll have to read the category description and get the extra labels / keywords from there stopping at the 10th label.

Nothing new here – my RSS feed already does all this and more – just wary of going back to the RSS feed and losing anything that’s already in base after the fiasco of the last few weeks

Forum lock down

Finally got fed up enough of people using the forum as a place to post
adverts for various PC Cleaning utilities etc. to get round to locking down
the forum completely. Now only registered users can update the svekweb forum
