Just to add a php count down timer to christmas and a little script to add falling snow to get set for the Christmas season (Already!). So the main page now will count down the number of days left to place orders and to Christmas itself.

Upgrade to SVEK Main site planned
This is due to happen next week, basically I’m moving it to a new host company since fasthosts (my old hosting company) has been having far too much down time to be acceptable. Unfortunately I’ll also have to change all the asp pages to .php so it’ll only be available as a test site for the next few days. See you there soon!

Button upgrade for License To Frill Lingerie
using the pink buttons contribution so it’s a bit more in tune with the rest of the site. By the way – testing css buttons on my demo shop – not complete yet, I’ll let you know whether I go this way or stay with the old fashioned buttons

Don’t use variables in joins on SQL 2005
It will cause sql to use Nested loop instead of hash Match and can give serious performance degradation on significant volumes of data

Bug fixed in License to Frill Lingerie
Found a minor bug in my configuration file, although the whole site is under a sub folder I’d left the configuration file pointing to the site root. Since there’s a redirect it wasn’t obvious but it means that every time someone goes to the home page it actually had to do a redirect back to the site so now License to Frill Lingerie should be ok again

Google base (update)
Like the new feature in google base of being able to see statistics on all items – how many times they’ve been displayed, viewed and number of hits. Going to have to finish updating the feed now since it’s stable – although did have a few ftp failures recently at least there’s a months grace to correct and resubmit any feed failures.
And an update from BT Broadband team
Whatever next! Not only do I get broadband enabled (courtesy of BT Chairman’s office – thanks Cerys) but I also get a call back from BT Broadband team. Now all I need is them to finally fix the problem that’s still outstanding since performance is diabolically slow with a very high error rate (but they are aware that there are still problems). I still have to resort to using my vodaphone connection or waiting until the paint dries… for any downloads of significant size. Hopefully it’ll all be resolved in the next week or three and then I can start updating on the latest developments.
