Partly due to year end - tax returns etc. and also re-negotiating an extension at my current client smartFocus PLC where I’m implementing a “few” database load systems (on my third at the moment. Interesting work, meta data driven database loads and match merge – although I’m only developing the merge aspect for the current client since one of their other consultants specialises in matching.
All SQL 2005 (aka yukon) and using SSIS for file based loads including foreign key validation etc. Interesting project – uses broker services as a job scheduler.
Also added an SEO contribution to license to frill Lingerie so all php pages are modified by rewrite rules to look as if they are html pages. Fairly easy to implement – would however recommend implementing on the core package as one of the first mods since I’ve heavily modded the back end (admin section) and so it wasn’t as easy to implement as I first hoped. Also added a new front page for them – actually a modded implementation of the standard index page with a bit of the dynamic sitemap thrown in so that all links now appear at the root of the site. Seems to please google, it’s now ranking the site again after throwing a wobbly at it last August and dropping all the page ranks.
